Roots to Leaves – RtL

Roots to Leaves is a proposal for EUvsVIRUS hackathon in Social & Political Cohesion Challenge, Protection of citizens & democracy (24-26 April 2020).

Our idea: Roots to Leaves is a Programme scalable on several components and activities  with the overall objective to bring past memories, present experiences, fragilities and ideas to meet people and communities.

Stakeholder: Roots to Leaves is addressed to elders with low technological profiles, vulnerable people, population at home in need of communication and support, personnel working on the front line and artists.

Goals: Roots to Leaves aims to solve the following problems:

  • To let people to be part of a community (digital and non-digital)
  • To involve single persons and families into a participative action of support and collective resilience
  • to enhance local communities with the unique footprints of their members
  • To drive changes and improve human conditions of the social community
  • To take out meaning, knowledge and beauty from the lessons learnt

Roots to Leaves impacts at different levels:

  • single persons becoming more resilient
  • local level: involvement of local communities, their footprints and their members
  • European level: promoting multiple cultural and artistic heritage
  • global level: capitalization of otherwise lost memories and potentials
